    Experienced Teaching Assistant

    Thorpe CofE Primary School seeks an experienced Teaching Assistant to support in Year R for 3 days each week - Monday to Wednesday from 08.40 until 15.15 (this includes a 15 minute break tea break and 30 minute lunch break) commencing as soon as possible. This is a term time only contract.

    Under the direction and supervision of the class teacher core responsibilities include:

    • Following the instructions of the class teacher and SENCO
    • Planning and prioritising tasks
    • Clarifying and explaining instructions to pupils
    • Communicating effectively with pupils
    • Motivating pupils to learn
    • Organising the learning environment

    Key Accountabilities will be:

    • Assisting in the delivery of day to day learning activities
    • Discussing with and reporting back to teacher on the planning and assessment of pupil’s work
    • Organising and maintaining the learning environment
    • Working as part of a team
    • Maintaining confidentiality inside and outside the workplace
    • Understanding and applying school policies

    The Teaching Assistant may be required to undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the class teacher.

Successful applicants must be able to support the distinctive Christian ethos of our school but do not have to be a practising Christian.

Our Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants are paid at Surrey Pay scale PS3 (currently £23,756/annum which equates to £12.56/hour).
