Safeguarding
At Thorpe Church of England Primary School we are fully committed to ensuring that our children’s safety is a priority at all times. All staff, volunteers and all outside agencies are subject to statutory vetting and DBS checks, and the school maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive Single Central Record. During the school day all adults and visitors must sign in at reception and wait to be given a visitors’ badge. If you come into school, visitors must contact a member of staff; sign in at the office and collect a badge.
Our Designated Safeguarding Officers are: Lead DSL; Mrs Southgate. Deputy DSLs Miss White, Mrs Lisa McLaren, Mrs Orriss and Mrs Sevier.
All 'Cause for Concern' are highlighted with one of the above DSLs and recorded onto CPOMs. DSLs will then follow protocols to ensure that all children are kept safe. All parents are informed of any decisions to refer and every decision is made with the children's best interests at heart. However, if the child is at risk then we will follow advice from Surrey Social Care.
